Plot summary

The Lokan Nachat is sentenced to work in the mines because he was carrying a weapon. His father, Kalek, wants revenge and aims to free the Lokans. An old wise woman advises him to poison Trigo with the flower of the wild Loris. Zargots eat these flowers and are therefore so fierce. Her granddaughter Amala sells poisoned sweetmeats to Salvia, the daughter of Peric.

Trigo eats many of these sweetmeats and becomes a tyrant. He unjustly sentences the Zolt Ura to death. Brag saves him, but is sentenced to the mines. Trigo even attacks Daveli. This goes too far for Peric, who deposes Trigo. He stops the attack on Daveli.

During a patrol flight, Keren is captured by a group of soldiers from Loka led by Kalek. From him, he learns that Trigo has been poisoned. Keren escapes, and the Lokans attack Trigan City.

Trigo is sentenced to death, but Keren manages to prevent it just in time. Without Trigo, the Trigans are helpless and risk losing the battle with the Lokans. Just in time, Trigo comes to his senses and lures the Lokans into a trap at night. He lets the Lokans leave again and hopes to live in peace with them.

Yes. The Wise Man of Vorg was first published in the Ranger Book 1967, which would have been available towards the end of 1966.

I have put the stories that first appeared outside the main sequence of stories published in Ranger and Look and Learn at the end of the list—so not in strict chronological order of first publication.
