Plot summary
In his laboratory, Peric shows Janno his latest invention—a device to make living creatures invisible—but the device is not very useful because only one in three creatures can withstand the radiation. In the headquarters of the Trigan Air Fleet, the custodian of the secret documents, Nemon, is murdered by a masked man. Janno is arrested for this. There are two witnesses, Reeja and Gorra, who claim they saw him. Janno is sentenced to work in the mines. After some time, Janno manages to escape and sets out in search of the witnesses. The first of them, Reeja, has since died. Cornered, he decides to go to Peric’s laboratory and make himself invisible. He survives this and indeed becomes invisible. He goes looking for Gorra. Gorra is a fisherman who has been at sea for two months, but he is returning that very day. When Gorra returns, two men try to kill him, but Janno saves him. Gorra tells Janno that he was paid by Vanass, the head of the imperial police. Janno goes to Vanass and forces him to confess that he committed the crime. He had stolen the secret documents to sell them to the highest bidder. Janno is restored to honour, and Peric makes him visible again.
